The Exercise in October 2006 was a simulated Search and Rescue Operation. Seventy volunteers showed up. We were briefed by Metroparks personnel. The first exercise was searching for small objects (12 golf balls) in tall grass. We found 14 golf balls! We then searched in a wooded area and found a bicycle. The next exercise was searching along a road - where we found a simulated boy (a scarecrow.) Finally, we cleared any loose objects from an open field, so the Metro Life Flight helicopter could land safely.
